(06-29-2006)
Twelve-year-old Annabelle Huffman from Napa, CA took the "championship cup" in The UPS Store® "Design Dale's Ride" coloring contest. Her winning design for the 2006 The UPS Store/Toys for Tots #88 Ford was unveiled at the Daytona International Speedway on Thursday, June 29. NASCAR legend Dale Jarrett will race the special paint scheme on November 5 at Texas Motor Speedway to kick off The UPS Store/Toys for Tots 2006 fundraising campaign.
The "Design Dale's Ride" coloring contest offered kids ages 5 to 12 a chance to design this year's The UPS Store/Toys for Tots #88 Ford. Annabelle's entry was chosen as the winner out of more than 2,500 submissions.
The winning design was determined by online voting and a judging panel representing The UPS Store, UPS Racing and Dale Jarrett, Inc.
As part of her prize package, Annabelle received a trip to the Daytona International Speedway for the unveiling of the car, a custom-fit, autographed racing suit to match the one Dale will wear, and a Crayola® prize pack, including Crayola Color Explosion™, Crayola Twistables™ and Crayola Erasable Markers. She will also receive a hometown viewing party to watch the car race on Nov. 5 at Texas Motor Speedway. Additionally, her school will receive 10,000 free copies from The UPS Store along with an art supplies package for the art department, courtesy of Crayola.
